Dashboards

Dashboards show the state of your work at a glance with charts, KPIs and short lists. Learn how to create a dashboard and arrange its widgets.

A dashboard is a grid of widgets that answers questions about your work: how many, how much, and which ones. It might show open jobs, revenue by month, and the next ten deliveries.

People do their work in views. They look at a dashboard to see where things stand. A dashboard does not store records of its own.

Uwaga: Dashboard widgets are available on the Pro plan and above.

Create a dashboard#

  1. In the sidebar, hover over the section or folder where the dashboard should go and choose +.
  2. Choose New dashboard. A dashboard called "Dashboard" is created and opens.
  3. To rename it, open its menu in the sidebar and choose Rename.
  4. Choose Add Widget to add your first widget.

Add a widget#

  1. On the dashboard, choose Add Widget.
  2. Enter a widget title, for example Open jobs.
  3. Under Widget Type, choose Chart, KPI or Table.
  4. Under Data Source, select the view the widget reads from. You can pick from views in This folder or All views.
  5. Configure the widget. The Live Preview shows the result as you go.
  6. Choose Create.

See Widgets for what each type can show.

Arrange the layout#

The grid is 12 columns wide. Each widget can be 1 to 12 columns wide and 1 to 12 rows tall. A dashboard can hold up to 50 widgets.

  1. Choose Edit Layout.
  2. Drag widgets by their handle to move them, and drag their edges to resize them.
  3. Choose Save Layout, or Cancel to discard your changes.

Edit or remove a widget#

Open the widget's menu and choose Edit to change its settings, or Delete to remove it from the dashboard.

Who sees what#

A dashboard has its own access rules, like a view. It can inherit the rules of its folder, or use custom rules of its own. See Access.

Every widget reads through a view. That view's access filter and access rules still apply, so a widget never counts or shows rows the person could not see in the view itself.

Wskazówka: To show "my branch only" numbers, point the widget at a view whose access filter already limits rows to the person's branch. Then everyone can share one dashboard and still see only their own numbers.

Dashboards on a record page#

A dashboard can also appear as a panel on a record page, so people see related numbers while they work on a record.

Widgets keep reading their own views. They do not automatically filter to the open record, unless the view they read is already scoped that way.

Plan a dashboard#

For each dashboard, decide:

  • who it is for, and which folder it lives in,
  • which questions it should answer,
  • which view each widget reads.

Every widget needs a view to read from, so create the views and their access filters first.
