# Quickstart

> Build your first system in SAPUGO in minutes. Sign up, create an organization, add a table with columns and rows, build a view, invite a teammate.

This guide takes you from a new account to a working table that you and a teammate can use. It takes about ten minutes.

> **Tip:** Prefer to describe what you need? On the Home screen, choose **Ask the assistant** and explain your business in a few sentences. The assistant can create the tables, views and workflows for you. This guide shows the manual way so you understand each block.

## 1. Create your account

1. Go to [sapugo.app](https://sapugo.app) and choose **Sign up**.
2. Enter your work email address, or choose **Continue with Google**.
3. Check your inbox. Enter the 6-digit code from the email, or click the link in it.
4. Tell us your first and last name.

## 2. Create your organization

Your organization is your company's account in SAPUGO. The setup screen calls it a workspace.

1. On the **Create your workspace** screen, pick a **Workspace icon**.
2. Enter a **Workspace name**, usually your company name. It is shown in the sidebar, the workspace switcher and in emails.
3. Choose a **Workspace address**. This becomes your organization's web address, for example `acme.eu.sapugo.app`. Use 3 to 63 lowercase letters, numbers or hyphens.
4. Under **Data region**, keep **European Union**.
5. Choose **Create workspace**.

> **Warning:** The workspace address cannot be changed later. You can rename the workspace at any time, but the address stays the same.

Your organization opens on the Home screen. SAPUGO has created an isolated database for it, hosted in the EU.

## 3. Create your first table

A table holds one kind of record, such as customers, orders or jobs. See [Tables](/docs/tables) for more.

1. In the sidebar, find the **Database** section and choose **Create table**. You can also choose **Create your first table** under **Getting started** on the Home screen.
2. Enter a **Table Name**, for example `Jobs`.
3. Optionally add a **Description**.
4. Leave **Time Series Table** turned off.
5. Choose **Create**.

The table opens on its **Everything** tab. This tab shows every row and every column of the table, and you can work in it directly. See [Access filters](/docs/base-views) to learn what the tabs above the table do.

## 4. Add columns

Columns are the fields on each record. SAPUGO calls them properties in some places.

1. Choose the **+** button at the right end of the column headers.
2. Enter a **Column Name**, for example `Due date`.
3. Pick a column type, for example **Date**. You can search the list of types.
4. Choose **Create Column**.

Repeat this for a few more fields. A good start for a jobs table:

| Column name | Type |
| --- | --- |
| Customer | Text |
| Status | Status |
| Due date | Date |
| Technician | Person |
| Price | Number |

See [Columns](/docs/columns) for every type and when to use it.

## 5. Add rows

1. Choose **Add row** at the bottom of the table, or **New** in the toolbar.
2. Fill in the cells. Select a cell and press `Enter`, or double-click it, to edit.
3. Open a row to see its record page, with the form, comments and activity for that record.

## 6. Create a view

A view is a working screen on top of a table: a filtered list, a board, a calendar or a map. Here you will put your jobs on a calendar. See [Views](/docs/views).

1. In the sidebar, hover over the **Workspace** section and choose **+**.
2. Choose **New view**.
3. Enter a name, for example `Job calendar`.
4. Under **View Type**, choose **Calendar View**.
5. Under **Parent Data View**, pick your table's **Everything** access filter.
6. Set **Start Date Field** to your `Due date` column and **Title Field** to your `Customer` column.
7. Choose **Create**.

The new view appears in the Workspace section of the sidebar. Each job shows on its due date, and anyone with access to the view can open it from there.

## 7. Invite a teammate

1. Open the workspace menu at the top of the sidebar and choose **Settings**.
2. Go to **Members** and choose **Invite member**.
3. Enter their **Email Address**.
4. Optionally pick one or more **Groups** for them. Groups decide what they can do. See [Groups](/docs/groups).
5. Choose **Send Invitation**.

Your teammate gets an email with a link to join. Until they accept, you can find the invitation under **Invitations** in Settings, where you can **Resend invite**, **Copy invite link** or **Cancel invite**.

> **Note:** The number of members you can invite depends on your plan.
